If you're planning to fundraise for us, here are some of our top tips to ensure your event is a success.

  • Get in touch with us. We can give you lots of useful information and advice to help you plan. We can also provide you with other fundraising materials, such as banners and collecting tins.
  • Set up an online fundraising page. Setting up an online fundraising page is a really simple way to boost your fundraising. We work with two websites; JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving. Both are easy to use but work slightly differently. Have a look at both and decide which one you prefer, then just follow the step by step instructions - it's a really easy way to start fundraising.
  • Using paper sponsorship forms? Please ask us for our bespoke sponsor form.
  • Tell everyone what you're doing. Put posters up in your local area, tell your family, get in touch with local press (Facebook your friends (post it on our Facebook page too) and spread the word.
  • Have fun, take lots of photos, be safe and make sure you enjoy yourself.
  • Once you have finished fundraising, don't forget to send in your money and send back any banners and collecting tins so we can reuse them.
  • Let us know how it went. We always love to see photos so please email them to us at - or add them to our Instagram page.
  • Relax and recover… then do it all again!

Shop for us!

If you shop through this site: it will allow us to get money when you shop, without it costing you or us a penny.

(This site works like traditional banner ads or comparison site which take a commission from the seller when you make a purchase. The welcome difference of this to other such sites is that they donate part of their commission to US! :) )

Hundreds of shops are registered with Easyfundraising such as John Lewis, next, Amazon, Curry's, Opodo to name a few, so, whether you're buying electrical goods, toys, a holiday or clothes, you can help raise funds by clicking and feel good whilst shopping!

This is such a simple concept but a very good way of helping us with minimal impact on you as the consumer. (Of course the ideal would be for the shops to give the full commission straight to us, cutting out a middle-man.)

But until that time comes we here at UCTF HQ are off to Easy Fundraising to do some online shopping.

Perhaps you will too, and help us collect free donations every time you shop the easyfundraising way!

The support of your business will help us to achieve our ultimate ambition - to give disadvantaged children in Uganda the opportunity for development through education, sport, life skills.

We can create a bespoke partnership to meet the specific needs of your company; motivating your employees, attracting customers and enabling you to achieve your corporate and social responsibility objectives as you support our vital work.

We'd be delighted to work with your company, big or small. Whether you want to engage staff or increase brand awareness, we have a fantastic track record with local and national partnerships.

We're proud of our experience, success and professionalism. We'll work closely with your company and staff and we welcome your business objectives as part of any fundraising project or campaign, because we understand that when UCTF wins, so should you.

Here are some of the ways that we could work together:

·         Charity of the Year

Select UCTF as your charity of the year. Money raised will go towards helping fund our vital work which is monitored and evaluated for its success.

·         Staff fundraising

We can work with you to develop a fully integrated staff fundraising campaign. We have a wealth of innovative fundraising ideas including simple, tried and tested fun fundraising activities and challenge events which provide an easy and cost effective method of supporting UCTF.

And if you make a corporate donation, it will benefit from corporate Gift Aid and can be written off against profits for tax purposes.

·         Sponsorship

Your company can promote a positive image to people that matter. You could sponsor an event or a publication - and as title sponsor your name and logo would be placed on any materials and mentioned in any associated press coverage.

·         Cause related marketing

Choosing UCTF as your charity partner is a powerful way to communicate your brand values to customers - and differentiate your products from competition in a practical and visible way. In today's economic climate, winning goodwill and recognition could be crucial, helping you to drive sales and win new customers.

·         Gifts in kind and volunteering

All sorts of gifts can make a difference to UCTF - anything from sports materials to furniture and IT equipment. Encourage staff to donate their time by giving hands-on help at fundraising events, sharing expertise and business skills or by rolling up their sleeves and doing a spot of DIY in one of our UCTF schools in Uganda.

All help will be gratefully received and will help us to maximise the efficiency of our service to our scholars.

·         Company donations

Giving a company donation to UCTF means that you can receive tax relief by deducting the amount donated from pre-tax profits at the end of the financial year. This means that your company can make a gross payment to UCTF, allowing us to fully benefit from your donation. Trusts & Foundations

UCTF is proud of the achievements we have made thanks to the support of our friends at trusts and foundations. Their long-term generosity has enabled us to expand our direct support to more children and to build the expertise of our staff and volunteers.

The far-sightedness and attention to detail of grant-makers makes them an ideal funding partner for UCTF.

We are dedicated to measuring the effectiveness of our work with our scholars, allowing us to keep innovating and improving. This focus on research, monitoring and evaluation means we deliver detailed and timely reports to our trust partners and we are committed to reporting back openly and honestly, tailored to the requirements of each individual trust or grant-maker.

UCTF is very grateful for the generous support of all our corporate friends.

It is always a privilege to arrange visits to our projects around the year so that Trustees and staff can hear directly from our children.

We have exciting and ambitious plans for the future and are always delighted to speak to representatives of grant-making trusts. If you would like to come and see our work or speak to our team please call 07515 912312 or email
